ASIC IP Scanner Workflow with BTC Tools

Scan the intended private subnet, confirm discovered ASIC miners and diagnose missing devices without exposing management interfaces publicly.

Workflow

Before an ASIC IP scan

BTC Tools imports or accepts IP ranges for local miner discovery. A useful scan begins with an accurate network plan and ends with reconciliation against physical or DHCP records.

01

Define the target

Use private management subnets, VLANs, or explicit ranges that belong to the mining operation.

02

Scan in sections

Large environments are easier to troubleshoot when ranges map to racks, switches, or rooms.

03

Reconcile results

Compare IP, MAC, model, and physical labels where those records are available.

04

Resolve exceptions

A missing miner may reflect power, cable, switch, VLAN, DHCP, firewall, or firmware conditions.

Checklist

Before you continue

Avoid broad scans that mix miner networks with office, guest, or public infrastructure.

  • Confirm the workstation can route to the management subnet.
  • List the expected private IP ranges.
  • Know the expected miner count per segment.
  • Pause planned network changes during reconciliation.
  • Record duplicate, unexpected, and missing IP addresses.
  • Do not enter configuration credentials until the device list is understood.

Operations

Scanner result triage

Treat scan output as an observation that still needs network and inventory context.

Setup

Turn scan results into an inventory

Label reviewed miners by rack, switch, subnet, or maintenance group so later configuration actions operate on known devices rather than a raw list of IP addresses.
